Summer

"Remember, its usually in the middle of the muck and mess that the conditions for rebirth are created." ~ Dan Miller
Summer
(orange painting in the background)
Regarding the painting in the background, I worked loose using a Sharpie to outline the figure and  then proceeded to paint the figure with a palette knife.  This sweet photo is of two of my favorite
people in the world who came out to view my work.

Hi, Tina, Anita B. from Orlando again. We have to quit meeting like this - ha! I really like this, it is bold for sure. What I like about coming here is it is a surprise each time. I know I might see a drawing one day, and an abstract the next day. When you wrote traditional work, do you mean still life or landscapes, or do you mean some portraiture? Never mind, I will just let it be a surprise!

Hi, Anita. What I mean is getting back to some serious oil work. I've been free with the expressionism for some time and it is time to pull back in and center on technique via a portraiture or still life, anything. Does that make sense? I've enjoyed your comments, perhaps you might want to get a google account and start blogging, too!

Makes me want to reach for a palette knife..I wonder if I could do this well? ---this is VERY nicely done!

Celeste, you certainly could! I can just see it now! Let me know when you do, and thank you!

Hi Tina! This palette knife painting seems a bit abstract, and a bit of impressionism.
Combined with the colors it makes a bold yet beautiful statement.
It makes me want to try to paint something along this style.

Tina, this is fantastic. I hope you haven't changed the color as you noted you may....that juicy orange is awesome as the figure emerges from it. I am in love with this! :-)

I don't know why, I find it incredibly difficult to work with a palette knife lol... but this is executed beautifully.

Thank you, Ash, I had a lot of fun with it, I find it easier than using brushes actually. Try that, just have fun with it and see if that makes a difference. Thank you for your comment, and for your follow!
