The Face of Homelessness

It could be your sister, your daughter, your neighbor, your co-worker, your friend. Homelessness is no discerner of goodness or ability, it can happen to anyone. Please lend no judgement, only a hand. Charcoal on paper 11X14.

Thank you SG - you are so incredibly good to me, lift my spirits. Artists should create art solely for the love of it, but for me I find solace in the fact that anyone cares enough to like what I do, and it appears you must be my guardian here on earth who fills that spot for me. Thank you with all my heart.

Dar Presto - thank you so much for viewing this piece and for taking time to comment. I loved your strawberries recently done, they looked so fresh and so sweet tasting. My best to you in your work. Thanks again.

I know people are having a difficult time everywhere, and don't wish to be reminded of difficult things, however after my last trip down to St. Pete and Tampa, the homeless numbers are growing incredibly. I felt this message needed to be out. Thank you very much, Jala, I always appreciate hearing from you!

Haunting and beautiful at the same time. During my recent trip to Boston I noticed that quite a few homless there were young and female. unnerving.

Dear Tina, I could not agree with you more. This is absolutely so basic and true to me.

You have a beautiful blog and your work is amazing.

I love the painting that you completed for your father, it too is brilliant.

You asked me if we share a name Tina, do we?

Love Renee xoxo

This portrait is striking. Thank you for this beautiful work and the thoughtful post that goes along with it.

Gwen, my goodness, the thanks is mine that you visited. Homelessness is so rampant in our nation, and my heart goes out to everyone who have lost their homes, and their livlihoods, for whatever reason.

It is such a Catch-22 that we allow the ill to wander and face victimization on the street in the name of protecting their civil rights. Thanks for sharing this lovely portrait that shows a face - like any of our faces -- but with eyes that ask for our help
