Frenchy

This French inspired painting was commissioned for a women's dressing room in Raleigh, NC. It was installed in a mauve painted room with cream upholstered furniture and dark mahogany tables. My inspiration was a combination of carved antique French beds I slept in when growing up AND how a love note left in a pocket appears after having been washed along with the clothing.  3ftX5ft

Very, very nice Tina. It immediately paints the image of a treasured moment falling into an abyss. There's seems to be a distinct aurora of sadness about it....leaving you to wonder the fate of the two lovers.

I love the idea of the love note.....

Yes, I can see the fibers that tore unfolding the washed note. Isn't it even more precious as an artifact that is mostly only in memory? The script is now encrypted, and secret for all time. A palimpsest.

Hello Tina - I just left you a note on my blog; thank you so much for visiting me there and introducing yourself! Your work here is breathtaking. I also visited your father's paintings, what beautiful memories you must have of him and what wonderful treasures he has left for you and your family to enjoy.

I've added myself as a follower so I can keep up with your new work.
