This abstract has a deep red, rich wood tone when viewed in person. 36X24 on canvas. The weather has been mild and rainy here, everything clean and fresh, my hope your world is beautiful.
You know, my first thought when I looked at this was Klimt's "The Kiss". No, they don't really look alike, but then again then they do. There's a sensuality about this painting I really like.
Collage….I see a collage. So, if it’s your ‘center’, I see an outpouring of thoughts in disarray searching for discipline and order. Perhaps unsettling to a degree. As with many abstracts, it works on you.
Alan, thanks for your comment! Only figuratively, no literal collage here! Speaking of collage, I envy mixed media artists who specialize in collage and are so good it is hard to tell an abstract is collage without a magnifying glass. Alas, my imagination and a brush and paint is all I have to work with and lately my imagination is on the low end of the scale.
Tina i understand completely about the distracted thing ...I was there a couple of weeks ago...better now! This piece is yummy I like the feeling of shapes within shapes on that gorgeous red field!!
My first time on your blog. What wonderful work! And fun for me also to "meet" another artist like myself who loves both figurative and abstract. I'm adding you to my blogroll. Cheers.
Van Gogh believed your profession is not what brings home your paycheck. Your profession is what you were put on earth to do.
With such passion and such intensity that it becomes spiritual in calling.
I totally agree and am fortunate to work full time as an artist. Please feel free to email questions and inquiries to: steelelindsey@ymail.com
"The man who arrives at the doors of artistic creation with none of the madness of the muses would be convinced that technical ability alone was enough to make an artist. What that man creates by means of reason will pale before the art of inspired beings." Plato

i find myself focusing on that bottom blue round part. i want to get in there and find out what that is. its like a portal.
It's my center. Contemplating change.
The aqua and red combo is exciting to see. The way you've painted it it looks like the colors are vibrating where their edges meet. Very cool!
This is so gorgeous!
I've been feeling all out of sorts lately too. Maybe it is spring that's to blame.

Thank you Jala, I just now saw this - I am still behind on things as I was away a couple of weeks!
I love your use of color...especially in your gorgeous, big abstracts. Powerful.
