Shirley, forgiveness please! I just came across this comment from the 21st. Thank you for your visit. I do remember your sunset! Best wishes this new year.
I do see Dallas in this painting...the bright lights, the busyness, the mixture of colors reminds me of the diversity of the population here...I especially like the heart you drew in the picture...To some we Texans have a reputation that is not so complimentary... Not just proud but TOO proud...but we do have heart. Have you been here before?
Surfergrandma, yes - yes! Lived in Rowlett on the outskirts of Dallas about 28 years ago. The teeny town was literally right out of the cowboy movies then, one main street in town. One could easily picture dirt between the few buildings on either side of the road with horses tied up in front of the buildings if you just ignored the asphalt on the street. Loved Texas, loved chocolate cake and red beans. Loved everything about Texas. The area was beginning to boom, and neighborhoods were popping up with wonderful brick homes and cedar shingles. Gorgeous.
Oh, Tina, you wouldn't believe it now!!!sooo big...I wish things wouldn't change so much! Some friends live in Rowlett in a beautiful area of homes build around Lake Ray Hubbard and we recently moved from an area of Rowlett and Garland divided by the Rowlett Creek Preserve...we were on the Garland side but all that seperated us from the Preserve and Rowlett was Centerville Road. It's a small world!
It is a small world. We first lived in Garland for a few months, then moved to Rockwall the remainder of the time. I worked in itty bitty Rowlett at the Tax Assessors office at City Hall for one year before we moved back to GA. Lake Ray Hubbard and the whole entire area around it I thought so beautiful. The homes were gorgeous then, can't imagine what everything looks like now. Yep, small world indeed!
I am a professional artist residing in beautiful greater metro Atlanta with my husband and little Shih Tzu, Sophie. Please feel free to email any questions or inquiries to: steelelindsey@ymail.com
While driving alone, my life and that of the unborn child I was carrying (but didn't know it at the time) were saved from certain death by an audible voice within my car. Miracles do happen.
